Homepage and positioning

  • Within seconds, a visitor can tell what the product is, who it is for and what problem it solves.
  • The headline makes a specific claim, not a category cliché.
  • Primary and secondary calls to action are visible without scrolling.
  • Navigation reflects how buyers think (problems, roles, use cases), not only your internal product structure.

Product and solution pages

  • Each page explains how the product works, not only what it promises.
  • Depth is layered: a clear summary first, then detail for technical evaluators.
  • Integrations, security and implementation questions are answered or clearly linked.
  • Screens or diagrams show the product accurately.

Proof

  • Evidence appears near the claims it supports.
  • Case studies and testimonials are real, specific and attributable.
  • Metrics include context — timeframe, baseline or how they were measured.

Offers and calls to action

  • There is a next step for different levels of readiness: demo or contact, a detailed resource, and something lighter.
  • Buttons say what happens next (“Book a walkthrough”), not generic labels.
  • Contact options — including email and, where appropriate, phone — are easy to find.

Forms

  • Only fields you will actually use are required.
  • Labels are visible (not placeholder-only) and errors are clear.
  • An optional “How did you hear about us?” field captures self-reported attribution.
  • The confirmation state explains what happens next and when.

Campaign landing pages

  • The headline matches the ad or query that brought the visitor.
  • One primary action per page.
  • Regional or segment-specific versions exist where buyers expect local relevance.
  • Marketing can create and edit pages without developer time.

Performance and accessibility

  • Core pages load quickly on mobile connections.
  • Core content renders without relying on client-side JavaScript.
  • Text contrast, focus states and keyboard navigation meet WCAG AA.

Measurement

  • Conversion events are defined consistently across analytics, ad platforms and CRM.
  • Form submissions carry source and page context into the CRM.
  • No personal form-field values are sent to analytics tools.
  • Reports connect site conversions to opportunities, not just leads.

Running tests

Write a hypothesis before every significant change: what you are changing, why, what you expect and how you will judge it. On low-traffic B2B pages, prefer bold, well-reasoned changes evaluated over longer periods to many small tests that never reach a readable result.
